It is a matter of great pleasure for me to introduce you to the techno-edu scenario of GPW Kandaghat.The fast changing techno, socio-economic and Industrial Development through globalisation in most parts of the world has resulted in a greater demand for quality technical manpower. Govt. Polytechnic for Women, Kandaghat, Distt. Solan, Himachal Pradesh was established in the year 1984 with aim of providing high quality education in Engineering and Technology and meet the requirements present world of work. This is the only Institute in Himachal Pradesh providing technical education to the women in the state.
The CAMPUS is spread over 6.40 acres of the land. The Institute is stituated 16 KM from SOLAN on the National Highway CHANDIGARH-KALKA-SHIMLA and is 30 KM from Capital SHIMLA.It is an old Palace of MAHARAJA PATIALA and is surrounded by unique natural surrounding.
During the last two decades of its existence, the Institute has made tremendous progress in the field of providing technical education particuarly to the women from all over the state of H.P. and adjoining states. It is the first ISO-9001:2008 Certified Polytechnic and is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) by A.I.C.T.E. New DELHI for all the Engineering Courses.
